SAM & PRIYA

Our Story

Ten years ago, Sam spotted a beautiful summer student sitting at the IT Services front desk. Although they worked together all summer, it wasn’t until the end that they went out on their first date. Unwilling to wait around, Priya beat Sam to the punch by asking him out (although to this day, he will still argue that he asked her first!) Regardless, the pair clicked immediately over a movie outing to watch Pirates of the Carribean, and this would be the first date of many.

With Sam in Newmarket and Priya completing her undergrad in Ottawa, the two dated for a few summers before going their separate ways. But once they were apart, neither was able to move on or deny the amazing connection that they had with one another. Always on each other’s minds, years later they found their way back to each other despite the distance between them.

Since then, they have been inseparable. Sam and Priya picked up right where they left off, continuing to strengthen a relationship full of love, laughter, respect, and a mutual love for cooking and The Daily Show. It was only appropriate that on February 14, 2016, Sam would propose to Priya at the very same front desk where he had first spotted the love of his life.  

The happy couple cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter and to start the rest of their lives together!
